Overview
The “Diploma in Computer Support and Repair” (Inc.National Diploma in Computing Level 5) will enable learners to be competent in supporting, repairing and troubleshooting computer hardware, operating systems and networks. This will increase the learners’ opportunities of employment or further study in computing.
“On the completion of this qualification graduates will be able to install, configure, troubleshoot “and repair personal computer compatible hardware, operating systems and computer networks.
The graduates of this qualification will be able to progress to further study in IT at university or polytechnic
- Diploma in Computing in higher level
- Bachelor Degree in Information Technology
This qualification will strengthen their employment skills in the following areas
- Desktop Support Technician
- IT Technician
- Network Support
- Help Desk
Certification
There will be two certificates awarded to the students.
- KAAT Certificate of Completion for “Diploma in Computer Support and Repair” will be awarded to the students who successfully complete all the units required for the course. In accordance with NZQA policy each student will be sent an official NZQA record of learning. All units results will be sent to NZQA ate the end of the course
- If student does not meet all the required modules/ units to gain the Diploma in Computer Support and Repair they will be entitled to receive a certificate of the units they have successfully assessed against.
Each student will also receive a Kuki Airani Angaanga Tupuna (KAAT) Trust record of learning in conjunction with relevant certificate
This training program is consistent with KAAT‘s philosophy and with our commitment to the people of New Zealand. “KAAT provides an environment that is anau (family) based. Social barriers to learning and achievement are identified and addressed either internally or by way of referral to appropriate organisations or persons. Delivery is self-paced to learner’s utilising a wide range of delivery techniques.”
Work Entitlement
While studying this programme, you can work up to 20 hours per week during the academic year. You will also gain points towards immigration to New Zealand on completion of the qualification.
Upon graduation, you may be eligible for a 12 month open work visa – known as ‘Graduate Job Search Visa
