Technology Enhanced Learning

E-Learning - or ‘Technology Enhanced Learning’ - is a critical component of modern education. At KAAT, we provide a comprehensive E-Learning environment:

  • We provide each student with access to a notebook computer and the latest software.
  • We use the latest digital technology in the classroom – digital projectors operating from a networked classroom computer.
  • We provide Internet access for you in the classrooms and common room.
  • About 25% of the course content is delivered online.
  • Our student Intranet helps you to manage your study life. You can access all your programme information - lecture handouts, study resources, discussion forums, assignment dates and details, to name a few.
  • Video conference capability via built-in webcam in notebook computer, in class .
  • All formative and summative assessments require students to interact and submit material online.

The benefits you receive from this method of education include:

  • Efficient use of time - course notes are in electronic format and testing is conducted online.
  • A record of learning is maintained online for each user.
  • Technology usage stimulates participation in the classroom.
  • Access to additional online resources.
  • Potential for higher grades because students have access to all the programme information required via the Intranet 24/7.
  • Develop essential industry skills for immediate use: time management, presentation of documents using the latest software ( Microsoft Word/Excel) thereby applying the skills-set learnt.
  • You will develop enhanced critical thinking and problem solving skills that will assist your future career – no matter what subject.
